Your Goals, Your Way: Use ‘Goal-Setting Bingo’ to Stay Motivated All Year (with free templates!)

Setting goals can often feel daunting, especially when traditional planners don't quite fit your style or needs. Over the years (probably decades!) every time January came around I would try a different planner, but found the pressure to maintain consistency and the rigid structure meant I typically gave up by March.

It was only in recent years once diagnosed with ADHD I realised traditional planners were unlikely to work for me, and so I stopped trying.

If this is you too… Say hello to Goal-Setting Bingo Sheets - a creative, engaging, and less intimidating way to map out your aspirations for your life or business.

What Are Goal-Setting Bingo Sheets?

Imagine a bingo card, but instead of numbers, each square has space for you to write in a goal you aspire to achieve. With 25 squares, these sheets provide space for a mix of small and large objectives, allowing you to visualise and track your progress in a non-linear fashion. This gamified approach transforms goal-setting from a rigid task into an interactive experience, making it less overwhelming and more motivating.

Why Choose Bingo Sheets Over Traditional Planners?

Traditional planners often follow a linear, date-specific format, which can be restrictive and anxiety-inducing for some of us.

In contrast, bingo sheets offer:

  • Flexibility: Tackle goals in any order, based on your current motivation and circumstances.

  • Visibility: Display the sheet prominently to keep your goals front of mind.

  • Non-Hierarchical Structure: Each goal holds equal importance, reducing the pressure to prioritize in a way that may not suit you.

  • Gamification: Turning goal achievement into a game can increase engagement and satisfaction.

Who Might Benefits from Goal-Setting Bingo Sheets?

This approach is particularly beneficial for people, like me, who find traditional planners challenging, for example if you have ADHD or other neurodivergent traits, you may have struggled with conventional goal-setting due to difficulties with linear planning and sustained attention. The interactive and flexible nature of bingo sheets can better cater to your needs, making goal-setting more accessible and enjoyable.

You may also consider yourself multi-passionate with a mix of life and biz goals big and small. If you have diverse interests and projects, bingo sheets allow you to incorporate these various goals without feeling confined to a strict structure or hierarchy.

The gamified aspect can also help reignite enthusiasm for goal achievement making the process feel like a rewarding challenge rather than a chore. And using a bold design and placing the single bingo sheet somewhere visible means you’ll see it everyday.

There are no rules… you can start your Bingo sheet in January, on your birthday, in September aligned with a new school year, or just on a random Tuesday whenever you choose to kick off. You may even what to create quarterly instead of annual goals.
