Why I’m running a behind-the-scenes Business Experiment (And Inviting You along!)

Last week I set in motion something new and exciting, something on the edge of my comfort zone.

I’m calling it the "100-Day Strategy Experiment" (for lack of a better name), and it’s the first time I’m running a live, behind-the-scenes experiment that you’re invited to follow.

To be honest, it feels a bit uncertain, but that’s the nature of any experiment. There’s a mix of excitement and uncertainty, but I think embracing that is key to this process. So far I am one week in and finding my feet and reflecting on why I decided to create this experiment and why you may want to try it to.

Why an Experiment?

What excites me most about calling this an “experiment” is the freedom it brings. There’s no set outcome, no rigid goals I’m holding myself to. When I remove the pressure of perfection, it opens up space for growth, exploration, and fun. Don’t get me wrong—I have goals and I want to bring value over these next 100 days, but I’m releasing the need for everything to be flawless. The goal? To aim for “good enough,” and in the process, push past my usual perfectionism that often keeps me playing small.

This experiment isn’t just about the outcome—it's about embracing the journey, sharing the highs, the lows, and all the messy in-betweens. It’s about showing up, growing, and learning in real time, and I’m taking you along for the ride.

How It All Came Together

This idea came to me in a whirlwind. As the last 100 days of 2024 crept closer, I knew I wanted to do something significant to close out the year. But I had no idea what that “something” would be. Then, I heard Ruth Ridgeway speak at the Soulful Sales Summit about running business experiments and giving people a peek behind the curtain. That concept clicked for me.

I realized I could blend this experiment idea with my desire to try something new for the end of the year. And so, the 100-day experiment was born—along with a private podcast where I’ll share daily insights, thoughts, and updates on what I’m working on. This isn’t a polished, scripted series. I’m literally thinking out loud, processing in real time, and you get to witness it all.

Why I’m Letting You In

A big part of why I’m opening this experiment up to others is accountability. When I’m left to my own devices, I tend to fall off the wagon. Having a community following along—people like you—helps keep me on track. It’s a win-win because not only do I stay motivated, but you get to see behind the scenes of my business and, hopefully, walk away with ideas, inspiration, or strategies for your own ventures.

I’ll be transparent about what’s working, what’s not, and where I’m struggling. It’s raw, real, and authentic because I believe that’s where the best growth happens.

What You Can Expect

So what will this look like? I’ll be sharing daily (or almost daily) updates, anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes long. You’ll get to see how I navigate running my business, especially as someone who battles with consistency and structure—thanks to my wonderfully “spicy” ADHD brain! I’ll be figuring things out as I go, pulling together ideas I’ve tried (and abandoned) throughout the year, and working toward optimizing my business without burning out.

This is a learning process for me. I’ll be integrating things like digital products, content creation, blogging (yes, I’m jumping back into that after years away), and building funnels for passive income. I’m also aiming to streamline my offerings, which range from coaching to design services, and make them work in harmony rather than feeling like disjointed pieces.

Why You Should Join Me

If you’re curious about how to take the pieces of your own business and optimize them, this experiment could offer some valuable insights. I’m not coming from a place of “I’ve got it all figured out”—quite the opposite. I’m figuring things out as I go, and you’ll get to see that process unfold in real time.

This is about experimenting with different strategies, sharing my progress (and setbacks), and staying committed to showing up. If you’ve ever struggled with consistency, if you’re prone to perfectionism, or if you’ve got ideas swirling in your head but can’t seem to implement them, then following this journey might spark something for you.

Plus, I’m incorporating weekly Q&A sessions where you can ask questions, and I’ll dive into them either directly or during my podcast updates. It’s interactive, it’s evolving, and it’s real.

The Bigger Picture

Ultimately, my goal is to grow my business in a way that’s intentional and sustainable. I’m not aiming to work more hours—I value my freedom too much for that. I live part-time in a camper van, house-sit around the UK, and balance my business with a lifestyle of flexibility. But I do want to see more income flowing in through smarter strategies, not just more hustle.

This experiment is about finding a balance that works for me—and maybe, just maybe, it’ll help you find yours, too.

So if any of this resonates with you, I’d love for you to follow along.

No pressure to jump in right away; the content will be there when you’re ready. I’m committed to showing up, learning, and sharing—come see what unfolds!
